Details
A big, low oval from the Itukoudou kiln. The broad, flat lip projects well past the walls and gives the pot real presence on the bench, while a stepped band runs around the body above four cut feet. The clay is dense and dark with a fine speckle, and the underside carries a raised inner panel.
At 22 by 18.5 inches and only 4 inches deep, it suits a broad deciduous tree, a forest planting, or a wide pine that wants a shallow pot with presence. Two large drains and six tie-down holes, with the incised kiln chop centered between the drains. One of a kind.
