Bushuan Fukushige Vintage Round Green Bonsai Pot – Pronged Feet

Bushuan (Fukushige Bushuan) | Japan | Glazed | Round | Green drip glaze, pronged feet

Fukushige is not a name you see often, and when a Bushuan piece by him surfaces with glaze work this confident, you pay attention. The green here isn't doing what most green glazes do — this is exceptional application, the kind where you can tell the artist understood the material deeply: how it would move in the kiln, where it would pool, how it would settle across a wide, generous body. For a round pot with this kind of presence, that glaze control makes all the difference.

The form itself is built for impact. Wide-bodied and low, with pronged feet that lift it just right and a glazed bottom that tells you this was thought through to the last detail. At 8.5" circumference, it's a compact but substantial piece — well within shohin-to-small mid-size territory, depending on how you're measuring your tree.

The pot is hand-signed rather than chop-marked, which for collectors tracking Fukushige's work adds a personal dimension to the provenance. At this tier — a rare Bushuan with documented hand-signing and glaze work this good — $529.99 is the kind of price that makes sense to move on.
